Shopify setup

From install to first message

A 30-minute call with whoever runs the shop. Everything happens in your own Shopify admin and Meta account.

  1. Step 1

    Install the Uncart app

    Open the install link and approve the access Uncart needs.

  2. Step 2

    Connect WhatsApp

    Log in with Meta and connect your WhatsApp Business number. WhatsApp checks your first messages before they go out.

  3. Step 3

    Ask for consent at checkout

    Rename the checkout marketing box so it mentions WhatsApp. Then add the “Send my basket to WhatsApp” button to your cart.

  4. Step 4

    Choose the tone

    Choose a formal or informal tone, and decide whether to offer a discount.

  5. Step 5

    Send a test basket

    Leave a basket in your own shop to see the reminder arrive.

  6. Step 6

    Live

    Orders that come back through Uncart get the tag print-recovered, so you can find them in your admin.

What the install adds

  • Webhooks, so we hear about abandoned checkouts and orders.
  • WhatsApp opt-ins on product pages, in the cart, in the customer account and on the thank-you page. A link opens your theme editor with the opt-in already in place; you check it and save.
  • A Web Pixel that spots baskets from logged-in shoppers who leave before checkout.

What it reads, and why

  • Checkouts, so we know a basket was left.
  • Orders, so we can cancel a reminder and count results.
  • Products and stock, so we skip sold-out items.
  • Customers, so consent changes in Shopify carry over.

What it writes

We add the order tag print-recovered, plus discount codes if you choose to offer them.

What you need

  • A Shopify plan with checkout extensibility.
  • Someone who can install apps.
  • A phone number for WhatsApp Business.

Other platforms

Magento (Adobe Commerce) and SAP Commerce are planned later, with implementation partners. We don’t have a date yet.
